BMC Pursues FedRAMP High Baseline Authorization for BMC Helix

HOUSTON – October 9, 2018 – BMC, a global leader in IT solutions for the digital enterprise, today announced that it is pursuing authorization from the U.S. Government's Federal Risk and Authorization Management program (FedRAMP) High Baseline for the BMC Helix Cognitive Service Management offering, hosted on AWS GovCloud. The FedRAMP High Baseline will allow federal agencies to leverage cloud computing environments for high-impact and sensitive data.

This new authorization will build off the existing FedRAMP Moderate Baseline authorization first secured in 2016 for BMC's Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector solution.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the FedRAMP High Baseline includes security requirements to protect some of the government's most sensitive, unclassified data in cloud computing environments.

"As more federal agencies move to the cloud, BMC is focused on providing the critical technologies that ensure government networks become and remain available, secure, and mission-ready," said Kevin Orr, vice president, federal at BMC. "Our pursuit of the FedRAMP High Baseline authorization, plus the approval of BMC solutions for the Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) program, showcases our commitment to being a trusted partner to our public sector customers."

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. FedRAMP compliance is a critical requirement for government agencies looking to utilize cloud resources.

During its annual BMC Federal Exchange in Washington D.C. in June, BMC also announced that multiple BMC solutions are authorized by the CDM program and the FedRAMP program, helping federal agencies minimize the risk of deploying secure technology solutions across their multi-cloud environments.

BMC has more than 25 years of history in the federal IT space and has earned the status of a trusted partner for public sector customers navigating their digital transformation.
